Our History

Gracious Hands Organization is a Malawian Non-Governmental organization which has been established in order to ease pressure on government’s efforts to accomplish the improved standards of life for people living in the Malawian communities. The organization seeks to provide care and support to the elderly, disabled persons the youth as well as other vulnerable groups of people including the marginalized old people. The organization also seeks to empower the youth socially and economically so that they should live a self-dependent life in the societies and contribute to the development of their societies. The organization also provides technical skills for the youth in different aspects. Gracious Hands Organization also advocate for climate change and environmental conservation to address the challenges of Global Warming. In July, 2021 the founder Mr. Collings Ngaiyaye felt compelled to pursue a mission of serving underprivileged people in the society through charity works, capacity building, climate change and environmental protection, and also youth empowerment. Then the organization was established in November, 2021 but due to resources constraints, the organization started its operations later in 2022 by volunteers within Balaka district and later after registration in 2023, the organization started operating in two districts namely; Ntcheu and Balaka districts, and the organization has done minimal charity works and projects both Balaka and Ntcheu, and also the organization proceeded with activities and even had it duly registered with the government of Malawi on 26^th May, 2023 through the Registrar General of Companies in Blantyre as a Private Limited by Guarantee with a certificate No COYG-LZFEE according to the laws of Government of Malawi Companies Act (Cap.46:03-No 15 of 2023). Then the organization went further to register with CONGOMA (Council for Non-Government Organizations in Malawi) with a registration No C1753/2023 on 15^th June, 2023. Currently waiting a certificate of NGORA (Non-Governmental Organizations Regulatory Authority). The organization is operating at T/A Kachenga, Balaka district and T/A Mpando-Ntcheu district, and T/A Mpando is boarded with Mozambique. The organization works much with elderly, disabled persons, women and the children to avoid discrimination, violence, abuse, life threatening and stigmatization in the society.
